Hanergy worked with the Municipality of Alimos to construct one of the first charging stations in Greece. Hanergy Modules used are of amorphous Thin Film technology, ideal for rooftop application.
Hanergy worked with the Municipality of Alimos, one of the largest Municipalities of Athens, to construct the first public charging station for the Municipality and one of the first Solar charging Stations in Greece.
The Opening ceremony happened on the 9th of May, with the event being covered by Greek TV stations, and present was the Board of the Municipality including the 2 Vice Presidents of the North and South Prefectures of Athens.
This Solar Charging station will be used by the first 2 Electric Semi-trucks purchased by the Municipality. Also, use of this public charging station will be free for citizens. They can receive the relevant Electronic Card that unlocks the station’s AC plugs, from the Municipality.
The charging station is located in Alimos Avenue and Cavafy Street and is part of Alimos Municipality’s policy for the promotion of Renewable Energy Sources.
“The Mayor of Alimos stated that if all of the car fleet of the municipality is made electric they will save up to 400,000 Euros per year from fuel costs.”
24 Hanergy’s Apollo 60W Modules were, ideal for rooftop application.The technical department of the Municipality did the construction, with guidelines provided by Hanergy.
The 1.440KW installation is a Net Metering project, it is grid connected and offsets the energy used to charge electric cars, with clean energy produced by the sun.
The second Electric Vehicle Charging Station, which is currently under construction and will be soon available for use, is located next to the Metro station of Alimos.
Hanergy is very proud of its relationship with Alimos Municipality, and will be also providing the modules for the second public solar charging station.
